Our goal is to keep employees engaged and excited, learning and achieving, throughout their career. Upon starting at CLO, we will provide the following trainings:
Online Training through Relias
This can be completed in the comfort of your own home, or in our offices if you don't have a computer or wifi at home. It will take about 6-7 hours and is paid.
Pre-service Workshop (PSW)
This five day training provides employees with a comprehensive view of CLO's history, mission, and outcomes for best-practice community living programs. Employees will acquire certification in First Aid, CPR, and Safety Care training.
This training consists of at least two shifts of working directly with a seasoned staff member, who will train you on the day to day activities of the home.
Program Specific Orientation (PSO)
Every time you work in a new home you will receive training over the important aspects of that home prior to beginning work, so that you are confident you can meet the needs of the individuals living in that home.
Continuous development is important for our staff. In addition to PSW, we provide re-certification in CPR and Safety Care as well as online refresher courses throughout the year on various topics. We are committed to ongoing growth and development for employees.
Additional Training for Managers and Family Teachers:
There will be specific training over how to handle the finances, the HR processes, and more in-depth training on care and how that department will support any care concerns.
Family Teaching Workshop
2-day training for Family Teachers and Home Managers to focus on CLO's 11 outcomes, family teaching model, lifestyle, and coaching techniques.
CLO employs a nationally regarded quality assurance model for evaluating service quality against CLO's 11 outcomes, as well as individualized, person-centered outcomes. Certification includes a review of training, coaching, professional evaluations, and consumer satisfaction evaluations.
