CLO wins $100,000 Humana Communities Benefit award!

On September 29th at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, CLO Children's Network received a $100,000 grant from the Humana Foundation to continue its valuable work at Mason House in Johnson County.

Humana awards a one-time $100,000 signature grant to a nonprofit in Kansas City focused on improving the health experiences or building healthy communities. This year the foundation received over 60 applications from deserving organizations. After a careful review, three highly qualified finalists were identified, including CLO Children's Network, The Guadalupe Centers, Inc.and Lakemary Center, Inc.

Funds from the Humana Communities Benefit award will allow for the expansion of Mason House, an autism program for pre-schoolers and elementary school-aged children. The funding will allow us to create more individualized classrooms with technology enhancements, equip a library for children with developmental disabilities and their families, and develop a sensory room for therapy.

This valuable gift will provide rich learning environment for many children with autism and will transform positively their lives for years to come.

                                   THANK YOU, HUMANA!
